Dear Gayton Ward,
Our ward will be responsible for cleaning our church building for eight months during 2026 as we are on a four-month rotation with the Innsbrook Ward. We will clean January through April and September through December. The first schedule is noted below. The second session schedule will be provided later in 2026.
We are working to minimize the number of households who will be asked to clean twice, although some will be needed. To help with this, we have scheduled just four households to clean each week. Given this, it is very important that you help on your assigned date. If you have a conflict with the schedule, please exchange dates with another household.
We will continue with our practice of cleaning on Friday evenings beginning at 6:00 p.m., although some work could be done on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings if needed. Evan Anderson, Jerry Powers, and Eric Thorpe will be at the building as noted on the schedule to supervise the cleaning.
The Pump Road building is where we meet together to worship our Savior each week. We can all do our part to help keep the building clean and presentable.
Thanks,
Brother Duncan

The Bishopric would like everyone to review and update their photo and other information in the ward directory. This can be done through the website or the member tools app. If you would like an updated photo, Brother John Davidson will be bringing his camera equipment and taking individual and family group photographs in the Young Women's room on Sunday Mar 10 between 11:10 am and 12:20 pm. You will be provided a copy of the photos for individual use and we encourage you to upload these to the ward directory if you do not currently have a photo. [Ward technology specialists can help you upload your photo if you need assistance.] This is a great time to ensure that phone numbers and email addresses are also up to date. Brother Davidson will be collecting any information that needs to be changed and providing that to the ward clerk. Just stop by the Young Women’s room and let him know what change(s) need to be made.
Our FamilySearch Center is now in our Stake Center. Operating hours are: Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. If the doors are locked, someone will put a note on the door with their phone number to call so they can come and let you in. The entrance Is on the Staples Mill Road side of the building.

Brothers and Sisters,
We would like to utilize a text message (SMS) alert tool in order to more effectively inform our ward family about general announcements and emergency alerts.
We encourage all members (age 13 and up) to opt-in to the service so you can receive text messages when we send out an announcement. To opt-in, please text "@wardalerts" to 81010.
The service is called Remind. Remind was created for school districts but is free and open for non-profit use. After you send your initial text to opt-in, it will ask for your name and whether you're a student, parent, or teacher. Please select student. It will suggest that you download the app but this is not necessary. We will continue to send announcements via email as well.
Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
Best,
Gayton Ward Bishopric

For the information of the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the First Presidency has issued the linked statistical report concerning the growth and status of the Church as of December 31, 2024. Statical Report
It has come to my attention that members that use Yahoo email accounts do not receive emails that I, or any of the church organizations, send out using the "Send A Message" service. For example, this is the service that I use to send out the weekly newsletter. The Church's help desk people report that it is a know problem but is not fixable by the Church. Their recommendation Is that you contact Yahoo's help desk and ask that they do not treat email from "noreply-lcr@churchofjesuschrist.org" as spam.
Another suggestion Is that you create a free Gmail account just for church use. Then update your membership record to use the new Gmail account. (There are Instructions on how to update your membership record on the ward website here: https://sites.google.com/view/gayton/records.) Once you create your new Gmail account, login to that account via a web browser and create an email rule that forwards all email from noreply-lcr@churchofjesuschrist.org to your Yahoo email account. By doing this, you will not have to check your church Gmail account separately.
An additional suggestion is to use an email client on your devices and send all email accounts Into one in-box. That is what I do on my Apple devices. I use the Apple Mail app.
I hope this helps. The only tool the Church provides for ward communications is the "Send A Message" email service. It gathers our email addresses from our membership records, so please remember to also update your membership record with you new Gmail account.
